KERAMO SIDAMO
Anteneh’s story-
“After I heard about Niguse’s coffee in London, its popularity and the high price that it was selling for, I thought that, during my visit to my hometown, earlier this year, I should arrange to meet him and ask him all about his amazing coffee. So, after a few phone calls, I managed to find out his contact details and we arranged to meet in the beautiful city of Awassa, where I was born and Mr Niguse lives with his family.
When we met in a café, I could see his passion immediately. He invited me to his farm and the next day, after a two hour drive, we arrived at a beautiful mountain town called Bura.
As we drove into the town, all the locals were waving, greeting us with warmth and joy and when I asked him why this was, he explained it was because he had done some good things for the town and they were very appreciative of this.
After visiting his wonderful coffee farm, Mr Niguse’s sister prepared a wonderful traditional coffee in a clay pot, with beans freshly picked from the farm. Trying this coffee was a truly amazing experience and I knew in that moment, that I absolutely had to have this coffee in England – the rest is history.”
Keramo is a small village in the Bura province, where Niguse’s coffee grows in high mountain areas. Bura is in the Sidama region, in Daye Zone, sited 2,400m above sea level where the hills and forest make this an extremely beautiful area.
This coffee comes with an extraordinary pedigree. It has the accolade of being a winner of the prestigious Cup of Excellence and shortly before that, it was reported in the media for being sold in a London coffee shop at £50 per cup! We are glad to be able to make it more accessible and affordable, so that all our discerning customers can experience this rare king of coffees.
We are thrilled to be able to bring you this spectacular varietal. Not only is it a stand-alone in quality, it is grown entirely naturally and is absolutely deliciously heavenly .
It has juicy blueberry, banana and a wonderful after taste of toffee sweetness.
